A central mission of "Brendon's Smile...Raising Awareness For Childhood Stroke" is to raise awareness for childhood stroke among pediatricians, neurologists, and other health care providers. We've partnered with the Department of Neurology at the Washington University School of Medicine to use "Brendon's Smile" funds to bring in internationally recognized pediatric stroke experts to lecture to the medical community, and to interact directly with medical students and residents. In 2010, with generous donations we partnered with Washington University School of Medicine to sponsor Dr. Rebecca N. Ichord, Director of the Pediatric Stroke Program of the Children's Hospital of Philidelphia (CHOP) to present the First Annual Brendon's Smile Speaker's Series. WIth your help we will continue this vital effort to bring awarness to the medical community.
We are committed to making certain that our current and future physicians are fully educated on the topic of childhood stroke.
At Brendon's direct request, the 4th Annual Awareness Walk/Rally will be held in honor of our June 2009 Hero of the Month Lorin Prahm and September 2010 Hero of the Month Katy Powell. Please click on their names to find out more about these two lovely HERO'S!!!
